Default ATTN: Florida Residents. Need help With Insurance Info!!

Ok so im coming down to florida january 9th till the 16/17th. im goin down there to insure my car down in FL instead of NY cause Insurance here is ridiculous. i jus had a couple of questions cause i dont know how the process is down in Florida, im goin to the orlando/kissimmee area where my dad lives.

Ok so first The title is under my name but im goin to transfer it to my fathers name cause hes gonna insure it for me under his name im jus gonna be paying for it.

what else do i need to take down there with me?

Title? Insurance card from NY? Registration from NY? do i need to bring down the car payment info too, like recent statement or anything of the sort? will the title have to be changed from NY to FL?

does the car get inspected down there? would i have to bring down my car to have it insured? What about the License Plate process do i get plates when i insure the car or i get plates first? im pretty sure my father knows what to do its jus new for me.

what else would i need to bring down with me? everything is gonna be under his name so title is gonna be signed over to him but car payments are under my name jus how it is here but with my mother instead of my father.

any help or info on this process would be greatly appreciated, about how long do u think it will take to do all this?

Thanx everybody again in advanced

If you are still paying on the car you can't transfer title, because it is NOT in your name, it's in the bank's name. What you want to transfer is the registration. Have your dad go talk to the Tag Agency folks and see what they need to transfer the registration to Flawiduh. LOL

uhm...dude, that sounds suspiciously like insurance fraud to me.

your trying to say that you live in florida and work in florida when you really live in NY? as soon as you have a claim, they are going to be curious why it happend in NY, and maybe glance at where you work, where you live, where you have bills and forth being sent, and if they see that, they'll drop you and probably black ball you because when you look for another insurance carrier, they'll find out why your last provider dropped you and guess what they'll find out.

so either suck it up and pay it, or find another company.

tcpete cant help you isnt he banned until like 2 weeks or so? lol

to insure a car in FL however all u need is a valid drivers license, proof of who the title is under and anup to date registration.. how ever im not sure if u need a FL registration or if the NY will suffice.

why not try calling a state farm agency or all state or many of the other branches in FL and see what they tell you.. thats the fastest and easiest way to get the CORRECT info you need.

oh yeah i completely forgot he isnt here till like xmas eve DAMNIT lmao.

drivers license will be my father since its gonna be under his name and everything. the title is still under the bank im assuming bc of the lien but thats under my mothers name cant she jus sign it over to my pops? i dunno bout the NY registration i think i would have to register it down there no? hm

im definatly gonna do that or even have my father do that considering its gonna be under his name now. i know when he moved down there from here he had all his cars in NY so there is a way to change it over to FL i jus need to talk to him and see wats up lol

GOOD LOOKIN OUT!
