Your car holds a special spot in my heart if it helps. I admire the battle scars.
i agree with both.of you guys...

also if your gonna have someone judge a jdm class..pls pls pls have people who really know their parts (no offense to you JDMbB83 i know u and me probably share the same heart/knowledge in some respect so that statement doesnt apply to you so im not saying you..but in cases were you or others who are not around at these shows and really can give advice judges should do their homework...good luck on that though)... thats all i ask.. even though a jdm award would be most applicable to an xB...lol

the only sucky thing about judging a "jdm class" is that it is very small.. i know of what 3/4 xb's...1/2 tc's...1 xa that can jump in on that lol.. we would all be competeing against each other lol.. sadly that automotive style is not a heavy hitter in the sofla scion community.
Its not a heavy hitter here. Lambo doors, neons, and what not are. And I respect that all the way. Not knocking it.

All these local shows Ive been going to the judges just look at your car, if its flashy and catches their eye, great. More power to you. You get a hotdog, and a trophy. Im not hating. But what about those who are purpose built, like Tamago and TCPete. Nothing flashy, but all quality.

I believe there should be at least one judge at every show, which does their homework, and not only judges a vehicle, but is willing to educate those willing to learn about JDM. Or who want to go that route.

the only car show judges ive ever respected was at nopi... those people knew their shiit

as for the hollywood show, how can a TC with unpainted side skirts win an award, it boggles my mind, a car with unpainted parts wouldnt even be let into a show like HIN...

it just goes to show you when u go to dealer shows dont expect to win anything just go to have a good time and enjoy the free food and stuff

i couldve done without the bbq guy with the attitude too

^^ its a little more then just having parts... its a look and style that is involved also. theres alot of ways to define it even though i hate giving it a defenition because thats lame. its a way of life and a certain style of modding more then anything..something that sadly in its meaning is lost completely in most peoples ideas of what is "jdm" blah blah blah

Cars with a purpose attend events for that purpose ... flash will always win at a car show and lose at an autocross or drag event. Because there is a lack of events for your purpose, does not mean that other events have to cater to your particular need. As stated not hating, just bringing reality to the topic.

Case in point, I do not autocross my xB.
