I need help installing springs
My opinion on this... if you are asking for help and have no tools to do the job properly ...
Stop right there and take it to a shop to have it done right and aligned. What you spend this way will be half of what you'll spend trying to fix your 1st DIY mistakes ...

what kind of shops would even do this kind of work. would a firestone do it or would you need to find a local customizing shop to do it but ether way if you dont a spring compressor you arent going to be able to do it
I feel your pain, but in my case i had tools, since you dont and want to go the cheap route hear me out. Since your spring is smaller than your oem you dont need a spring compressor even though it would make the job a lil easier (if you wanted to rent one, a local AutoZone would lend you one for fifty bucks then when you take it back you get your money back (just an option)). So the spring doesnt need to be compressed because it would go over the strut and the top plate would bolt right back on. But keep in mind that by doing it this way is VERY dangerous, you seriously could lose a finger or two. Because when your taking the top plate off to take out the oem spring, when it gets to its last thread the plate is going to shoot off along with the lil screw and a rubber seal like thing. In doing this i had put it in a five gallon bucket and let it shoot off into the bucket. This would be the most dangerous part.
But in a nut shell you only need a allen wrench and a ratchet with a socket, and backup wrench.
Take the tire off, rip apart you trunk to get to the three lil nuts at the top of your strut, take them off, go back to bottom of the strut take the larger screw out, your going to need someone to step on the controll arm so you can take the strut out. then one you got it out what i said earlier ^^^^ about the bucket and everything thats what youll need to do. Then once you got the aftermarket spring on to the strut put everything back.....get someone to step on the control arm so you can slide the strut back into place. Then put that large screw back so the strut is screwed back on to the control arm, go back to the top of the trunk put those three nuts back on, put your trunk back together, and put the tire back on. Once agian this is all in a nut shell.

^^ there ya go. It's not that hard if you have basic mechanic knowledge. I broke 2 ratchets and 1 breaker bar teyin to get the front assembly out of my xb, so a few back up tools would deff. Come in handy especially when you only have one car and can't pick up more tools like me and broke all your tools like me lol
IMO, save the 200 on what you would spend on the install and go buy a nice tool kit and diy.
i did mine on my civic hatch in about 2 hours with basic tools, never done a tc altho its a strut suspension and cant be to terribly different
