Has anybody thought of or would like to have a Cruise over the Skyway starting in Bradenton and heading over the FT. Desoto Beach and just have a BBQ hangout and take pictures. IF not well i think we should plan something like this start now that way we can get it popping maybe in like March when it gets a bit warmer but not to hot. Anyone interested or have ideas??? Lets do this...

I couldnt decide but hey gettint you from tallahassee thats whats up so lets do it that saturday. tell all your buddies. anybody else got any ideas? anyone wanting to do some cooking, of course nobody has to just an idea. bring your own food if you want it cooked. if not its all good just hangout and get down.

 

Yeah, I would usually be down for this......But you said Skyway. I DON'T do bridges well. Maybe I can ride w/ someone....if I get completely wasted and lay on the floor board while we go over it.

I'd be down for that. We'd be driving from Lakeland, but that's not too far. Sounds like a blast. Is there anyone in that area who knows a good starting and stopping point? Maybe someone would be up for sponsoring prizes.. or maybe we could make it a charity/poker run. That would be fun too.

I think a good starting point for this drive can be at the Ellenton Prime Outlet Mall off of I75 about 2 miles south of I275. Stopping would be at Ft Desoto Beach. Park and go from there.

 

Oh.. This sounds like we need a poster and a sticky to the events heading.. although.. I suppose its not really an "event" per say... but it still needs some flair! But this is still quite a drive, if you have enough people there may be a hotel that would like to give you good rates on the rooms. usually if you can fill 10 rooms they will give you a good rate. Also, there are camp grounds near by, so that could also be an option. Its 35 to 40 to get a camp site, so that would be cool too.

 

Anybody up to the task in making a poster for this or the hotel thingamabob??? has anyone here ever set up an event or get to gether like this before? kinda an idea that just hit my mind but i have no clue as how to actually organize this and get people out to this.

ill add info as you guys get it and post it. no, im not planning this event for you. Ask ScionEyes to try and get a dealer to help, maybe you can even get the dealership to cover all the cars tolls, lol.

You know i am always hearing that Wesley Chapel toyota is or was always having little car shows at the dealership. You guys know anyone there that might want to throw down for this and make it an event?

 

If we can get a car club behind it, we'd have better luck getting a dealership to take an interest. Someone from Scikotics or Scion Apocalypse. Something that gives a count on how many people would be attending. Also, anyone active on other forums so we can get some buzz going on... I'll hit up the team Ist forums to let people know.. There is also a Scion dealer here in Lakeland, I'd hit them up for some sponsorship something or other.. once we get some more info..

yo if anyone can come up with something lets us all know. the more people involved the better we can get this going.

 

1st, your best bet would be to contact the dealership that is less then a mile from the mall (cant think of the name of it) maybe they would host the meet up (they have thrown a show before which ScionEyes put together)

1a then, contact the closest dealer to ft. desoto and see if they will sponsor the bbq at the end, as a marketing event in the park. (not sure of the rules against this)

2. is Scion Apocalypse in the area? i know they are in miami and cali but afaik they arent in the bay area.

3. KAD is prolly the best club resource for this event (as i requested their logo since it changes almost weekly. :p )

4. WC toyo hosted meets when ScionEyes worked there, they dont anymore since she doesnt work there.

5. for a drive this long, on toll roads, and a bunch of major road switches, i would HIGHLY recommend looking into an escort or at the very least laying down some mediatory driving rules.

6. who is funding this?
6a. camp sites arent free and cook out spots are first come first serve (note 1a may be able to go early and get a cook out spot)
6b. prizes arent free but 1 and 1a prolly have scion swag laying around and ScionEyes and myself have stuff laying around.
6c. SET/The Field team may what to be apart of this.
