Anyone in TSE have Coils? Opinions?

I was kind of thinking of picking up some used Coilovers to go a little lower on my car, especially after coming up on an OEM lip...

 

what coils are u looking at.. i will tell u if they are garbage or not.

 

they were selling on here SSP's but the price is a little up there.

Also looking at some used H&R and Ksports.

this won't be till after my little money pit rims project but just wanted a feel for quality between the coils.

 

ssp's or h&r are good... ksport belongs in a canal ... megan also... tein basic or JIC is great also. b&g and function also good. d2 not so much.

 

hmm I was kinda leaning towards Tein either way :/ i guess Ill wait for a set of SSP's or Basics to go up for sale, not really in a huge rush to be slammed :D

ssp's are nice but u cannot slam ur car all the way to the floor.. the basic you can slam it all the way down..

i have basics with custom spring rates... car rides smooth and like its on rails.. u can ask the other sergio or some of the ppl in 1up whove been in my car... that was the first thing i focused on my car.. it depends on the kinda of daily driving u want.. H&R rides nice also but takes for ever to adjust preload and the dampening to get it right. most bi-tubial designs like the h&r dont come with correct preload settings.

whats your budget and does it have to come with tires.?? u can also try CL ... even ebay for some decent rsl's..

 

damn those are nice... idk about not having tires though. they dont NEED to come with tires cus i can get them pretty cheap but if so then i think the wheels alone would have to be a bit cheaper

 

550 is as cheap as i can get those black racing wheels 4 u... if ur budget is less then that then its gonna be tough getting anything decent.... try CL... or ebay... of hop around the local forums to find something...

i can also get you some rota slips 5x100 17x7.5 w/ crap tires to roll on for a while for 500-550

also i can get you maybe some 17x7 Motegi Traklites w/ tires

also some used 18x7.5 riax wheels (lmk if u need a pic) but one of the rims has a small bend on the inside of the rim( i know someone who can fix it its minor) It still rides fine also 2 of the rims have minor curb rash. You will get the 4 tires as well, 2 of them are running low on tread though.

its not hard.

strip the paint/clear off.. scuff with 400 grit sand paper, primer, paint, clear.. your done...

if u wana just get it over with... dont strip the paint.. scuff clear with 400 grit... primer... paint.. clear... your done...

it can be done a day all 4 rims... the only ___ thing is if u scratch the rim with the OE paint underneath it might show up black since it was never stripped off.... thats why i say to strip all the paint and clear off first so u have a nice smoother surface to work from..

this also helps because w.e curb rash is on the wheels u can easily sand smooth and primer over so it will look better.
