just bought some silverstar ultra bulbs! low beam(9006. about 1000 lumens) and hi beam(9005. about 1700 lumens)...

they look PIMP! lol. white and bright as hell. almost as good as 4300k HIDs (3200 lumens). i can get HIDs for 135 bucks shipped from a japanese company with warranty and all (i heard japanese comanies make great HIDs. lol.) my only problem with most HIDs is that they are NOT designed for reflective housings like ours, but rather projector housings. So unless I retrofit projectors or buy Sylvania HIDs (they have some HIDs that are designed for reflective housings), I'd rather stick with halogen. Don't get me wrong, HIDs look great, but if they didnt come stock, they have crappy cut-off. i havent seen HIDs on a tC that have near decent cut-off, and this sucks cuz they blind ppl(risk cop trouble) and arent DOT approved(risk more cop trouble). just my 2 cents.

btw, im planning on getting another set of ultra 9005 bulbs and modify them to fit in my low beams(they'll still point downward so i dont blind people) so that they'll be brighter.

and they light up the road pretty good lol

 

lol. im not too with the blinding thing... i guess ive had real bad luck on the road and been stopped too many times for dumb little ****. lol.

i gotta agree with u tho, they're bright as hell. the first pic here looks awesome. like i said, i just dont like how they cut-off at night and i know a few people that have fogged up headlights because i guess the brightness of the light kinda burns the plastic. i find it odd because HIDs run much cooler than halogen bulbs, but w.e. lol. I'll def put HIDs in my car when I retro the projectors on there. I'm not really into the ebay projector headlights. lol.

 

well, i didnt say it as a fact, i said that "i think"...but im wrong of course...i just made that assumption since there isnt any test and tune events on jan or feb on saturday. try ur best to go tho bro, we want u there!
