UFC @ FROGGERS OVIEDO - 12/29 10pm
HEY GUYS JUST THOUGHT I LET YOU KNOW I HAVE THE UFC FIGHT THIS SATURDAY AT MY RESTAURANT AND THE SPECIALS ARE BUY 20 WINGS GET A FREE PITCHER OF BEER DOMESTICS ONLY
HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO PASS UP FREE BEER
Too bad I'm nowhere near Florida. I'd be there in a heartbeat. Not many bars around here show UFC ppv's and I'm obsessed with it.
My predictions:
I only wanted to do the televised fight card, but Jorge Curgel isn't going to be televised. He wins his fight.
Gabe Ruediger Vs. Melvin Guillard
Wouldn't surprise me if this went the distance and wasn't as exciting as it should be. Melvin can and should knock him out, but don't know if he will.
Joe Lauzon Vs. Jens Pulver
It's friggin Jens Pulver. Come on folks.
Jason Lambert Vs. Rashad Evans
Not sure what to think here. Rashad didn't impress me in his previous fights. He could do much better than he has. Hopefully he got his rear in gear and starting to train more than show. If he did, Lambert has a tough fight ahead of him.
Mike Swick Vs. David Loiseau
I'm biased because Loiseau is friggin nasty. Not to say Swick isn't a bad fighter, but between the two I see him as the weaker.
And now the main event:
Matt Hughes Vs. BJ Penn
Hughes is legit. Penn is legit. Damn fine matchup. I'm pretty pumped that they got them to do a rematch. Since the last fight, Hughes has gotten better, and Penn has taken a long time off. I hope this one goes at least 3 rounds of action. Hughes has the ability to drop him in the first, but Penn isn't a pushover so who knows. If Penn loses, he should drop back down to 155 and dominate.
