Remote looking control

Does anyone know what this is? It's in a scion frs and its coming from the console of the parking brake. There is one on each side.

play with it see what it does, take the console apart and follow it where it goes

Already pushed the buttons but nothing happened that I could see. I am not a car person so I'm not about to take anything apart.
