Default 1st Tuned Scion FR-S - by GReddy

Hello ScionLife,

Last night was an proud night for the GReddy team, having the privilege to be allowed work on and modify the 1st (lightly-tuned) Scion FR-S! It debuted last night at the Official USA "Scion FR-S Reveal with Scion VP Jack Hollis" We saw and talked to many VIP Scion owners at the event, but we figured we could share more with the rest of the ScionLife members here on this thread...

Basically, the goal was to build and display a lightly-tuned Scion FR-S for the event. In a few short days, the GReddy team modified the stock black, 6spd FR-S with GReddy Spectrum Elite SE Exhaust, Type-S Suspension, big brake kit, 19" Rays G12, Hankook V12 Tires, and a F-Sport inspired custom interior.

We are still currently sorting through all our photos, but in the meantime check out this SpeedHunters feature:

We'll have more soon...

Thanks "trdscion"! We are also looking for some suggestions for what parts we should make for the FR-S... Let us know.

FR-S needs its HP increased so a Greddy C.A.R.B. Legal Turbo Kit, Greddy Air Intake, Greddy Front mount intercooler would be my short list.

I love the look of the back with the exhaust! Great job guys!

Only cause I am wondering, is the type S suspension, coilovers? if so is that the lowest setting?

What size tires did you run on the car?

We can go a little lower still on the prototype Type S coilovers.

And we have 19"x8 in the front and a 19"x9 in the back.

Thanks

Thanks...but now I'm getting a little confused.

In the Speedhunters article they call out 19x8.5" front and 19x9.5" rear, not 8's and 9's. So what was actually on the car?

Reason I ask is because I have 9.5" wheels now that are +45 and would like to utilize them on the rear of the vehicle at minimum if possible.

Also, what tire size did you run on the wheels? 245? 255? 265? What aspect ratio? 30? 35?

The more specs the better. It will help those of us planning wheels and suspension get a better idea of what to do when we find one of these cars in our driveways.

Sorry for the confusion.

The wheels are Volk Racing G12 19 x 8.5 +45, 225/35/19 in the front and 19 x 9.5 +45, 245/35/19 in the rear.

I hope this helps.

So is that what the release model is going to look like? They changed the rear fender swoosh thing, or maybe that was a kit on the modded FR-S. Reguardless, it looks good! Any idea what it's gonna cost when they release it? Or maybe it's way too soon for that haha

This build has nothing to do with the "Release Version" rather a modified version by us.

What we are trying to achieve with this build is to give FR-S enthusiasts a reference to what a modified version looks like. There have been plenty of production and photoshopped images circulating the web however none of an actual modified production version until now. The list of modifications on this includes:

GReddy Spectrum Elite Exhaust
GReddy Type-S Coilovers
GReddy Big Brake 4 piston front, 2 piston rear
Volk Racing G12 wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 evo
Custom Upholstery

Not bad for only having 3 days to work on this project!

Here's a video clip containing exhaust sound @ 1:28 mark.

More than you know! If you ever get a chance to post photos of the wheel clearance to your coilovers, that would be even better though!

....But the real question here is, when does the exhaust arrive!?!
