Well anyone who wants a PW auto xB with 18's.. let me know. I'm selling as soon as my dealer can get one of these in.
I didn't want this to happen. But, the "S-tronic" and engine were the deciding factors i held myself to so...
(But those were just my deciding factors on top of the nicer belt line, updated and smoother dash, and 4 wheel discs.. <-- all as a matter of opinion of course...)

I'll admit it was a tough design to update, but if miata and the beetle can be updated without compromising the soul of the car...so could the xb.
A box on the other hand is a box. You can't change much. Squared corners cannot be changed much, because if you do, it's no longer a square, and no longer a box. It's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. There's no way Scion could have made any significant changes that would have been accepted by the xB purist. Nor would they have been able to continue to sell the car with no updates. Interest would have slowly waned.
The box shape is only one way of keeping the integrity of the design.
You can even soften the box and update the design without compromising important elements like the tail light bulge that runs the length of the car.
Or the grill/ headlight integration.
or the balance of the hood and the rest of the car.
or the horizontal themes in the nose
proportions need not change.

I took some time to read through this thread this thread
when the t2B concept came out. What I found funny is the fact that responses were all over the map for the t2B also:

Id say the xB2 looks much more like the t2B:
Infact, I think it is one of the few production cars that retained much of the feel of the concept (minus the interior of course).

Raul, I think your right on with number #5, and I could not say it any better than #6.
Good job Scion, youve created another off beat car that some will love and some will hate. Youve listened to your target audience and youve created a car that will fit a wider range car owners lifestyles.
I think you have another winner on your hands.

The xB2 and T2B do look similar, but note that the T2B actually stuck closer to the xB Classic idea with a very short nose and about half the overhang at either end compared to the xB2...
The xB2, in silhouette, is indistinguishable from a mothership (soccermom van/station wagon).

Hmm does anyone know can you run Sirius and Xm off the same headunit or do you have to have an adapter for one of them? I'm selling two vehicles and going down into this one but each one has the different sat radio.
