Just about time to trade then
There is absolutely NO way its going to be a V8 Hybrid.
1) The planetary hybrid system used will call for an aproximatly equal sized electric motor. A V8 sized motor is WAY to expensive.
2) A V8 plus a comparable sized electric would be a disgusting amount of low end tourque. (think 200+ at 1000RPM from only the electric.

If it really is a hybrid, your looking at a 4 or 6 cylinder model with a comparable electric motor. 35 MPG and only an automatic. The planetary system replaces the transmission, however...it makes the 'tourque curve' useless. Think of all 350 HP and 300Ft-Lb tourque available the instant you hit the pedal.

Yup! Peak torque at 0 RPM to infinity RPM. Electric motors are great.

Speculation abound on this model. However, I find that Bestcar magazine new car reports are usually full of nothing but guesses and imaginary photos. I recall years ago they did a scoop on a new rear wheel drive 2 door Corolla. Yeah, like that happened. I think we just have to wait longer for some solid info.

well, a hybrid rotary would help with the gas mileage that they get. and it would be smaller.

I'll only believe the US will get it when I see it.... as of the end of this last year, the powers that be at Toyota stated in a conference in Florida that the US is not getting the Supra back.

I was talking about this article in this japanese magazine a little while back in one of my toyota classes, and the teacher asked me what I was talking about, and told me about the conference that he went to........... so, until I actually see one rolling around, I'm going with, no more supra will be in the USA....

I immediately thought that the headlight bulges resembles a Ferrari 360. It better not have a Ferrari price. V8+Hybrid= V10 power/torque?

well they can not call it a supra.

they can name it "tx", in honor of terminator 3's sexy & powerful villian.

I think they're just going to bring it out under the lexus namesake, so they can charge out the ___ for it... but who knows.... I'd been planning on getting an SC430 or the next gen for a while... but I may wait to see what developes with this model... if nothing else, it looks like a slightly beefed up SC, if you ask me..
