Add another vote for YUCK!!! I like the xA the way it is. That looks terrible. Just my .02 though. Please don't change the xA (except for the engine).

Daihatsu Copen 1.3L (87bHP)

This micro-convertible with a 660 cc turbo engine was only meant to be a plaything produced in very small numbers for Japan. But it was so successful that it was exported. And here it is, now with a 1.3-litre engine producing 87 bhp!
Finally a left-hand drive
Until now, fans of the little Daihatsu convertible had to drive like the British. But, in addition to a new, more powerful engine, the Copen's interior architecture has been adapted to suit its European and American customers, i.e. it is now available as a left-hand drive.

I appreciate people looking to other Toyota markets, BUT...

It has been guaranteed that the new xA and xB will share the 2.4L 4cyl with the tC and is supposed to share the same platform.

None of these models fill the roll, the platform size is qrong and so is the engine drivetrain. The elongated xB pictured in the spy photos is pretty much the idea on the xB. The xA is something none of us have seen yet but we know the platform and engine. Maybe a Matrix size car with the 2.4L and the ability to upgrade the performance. It feels right for Toyota as long as the price stays in the $15 - $17k range.

HMMM, I like it! The current xA I did not like when I puchased my xB. But now I just keep thinking it looks to me like a reincarnated Gremlin??? I think Im crazy but I have grown to like it. Our xB replacement style I have seen on here I do think is dreadful. Screams PT. But if this is the replacement xA I better hurry up and get my new age Gremlin before that hits the street. All in all its better than the new xB.

That thing is so ugly. It would be really slow with the base engine. 85 hp and 85 lb ft of torque? Better get the bigger engine in the US.

I like the dash set up better than the current Xa.
I hope all these rumors about a bigger engine for the future Scions turn out to be untrue. Unless the bigger motors somehow get better fuel economy.
In my humble opinion, horsepower is overrated, MPG is the only thing that counts.

Nothing has been "guaranteed" yet in terms of the motor, too many rumors not enough information from Toyota directly.

Xb's replacement looks like crap, the xa's replacement will probably look like crap. Who cares? You aren't buying these, we already own the current xb/xa so quite complaining. If anything, sales will drop and our values will increase because of it.

Default Replacement Timing

I've heard that this is the last model year for both the XA and the XB. 1) Is this accurate and 2) if this is the case, when are we going to get any real info on the 07's?

Unless you know something that nobody else here does, you have not seen the new xB yet. We are getting a different model than the new bB.
As for the xA I was told that it will go in a slightly different direction than the current model. Beyond that, we dont know anything at all.
