Do you have a key or legend? What models do the codes translate to?

Wow, Isn't it crazy how all the people complaining about the xB2's mileage won't say anything about the small tC coupe which should get over 30?

No, it's not crazy at all. There wasn't a previous tC model that was rated 18% higher than the new one.

The "Spec" actually has a non-opening "panorama roof" - basically a fixed glass panel. :D

Its about time they had some real EPA estimates. 55 MPH on a dynometer isn't exactly how I drive.

I have over 21000 miles on my 5-speed tc and I have averaged 28.7 over those 21000 miles. And my last tank I got 32.4mpg most of which was driving 75mph on the interstate. And I have never gotten worse than 25.3mpg and that was 100% city driving in the dead of winter, so I don't know what this 20mpg estimate is all about. I am not going to complain about gas mileage.

well, i do not drive much and only fill up every two weeks. i have been calculating my milage for my 2005 tc 5spd. i got 30+ mpg and 390 miles on full tank before hitting the yellow light for refuel.

the reasons are simple, i do much of freeway driving and only drive at 55mph on the freeway.

I don't know why people are bytching about the MPG of the 08 xB. My wife is getting 27.8 MPG all CITY driving, although she has only had it a couple of weeks and hasn't put all that many miles on it. We haven't taken it out on the road yet to see what the MPG will be on that.

It looks to me like the new EPA MPG estimates are way too low, if you don't drive like a jack-rabbit.

Why is there a 2MPG drop (auto) and 3MPG drop (5 speed) in MPG for the tC coupe? New engine/trans? Also does anyone know the HP specs for the '08tC?

It's not a change in the car and it is not about the 2008 tC. It is about a change in the method of estimating gas mileage the EPA is using starting with 2008 models. The 2007and earlier models can be compared using the new calculations at www.fueleconomy.gov.

There are some more threads around that cover this. Hope that clears it up for you.

Good to know. I think I'm going to stick with the old way of estimating MPG's. It's going to make me feel better every time I have to fill up. Thanks for the quick response.

I constantly get 28.5 to 31 mpg with my TC when I drive mostly HWY and don't mess around with the throttle to much.
