Default NY 08 Preview: Scion Hako Coupe Concept

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/03/05/n...coupe-concept/

Scion has further fueled rumors that it will debut a replacement for the tC coupe later this month at the 2008 New York Auto by releasing a teaser shot today of what it's calling the Hako Coupe Concept. Being a teaser, it doesn't reveal much of anything about the coupe except that it's orange and appears to have a blocky front end design. Scion has been known to make big news at the New York Auto Show, having unveiled the well regarded Fuse concept there two years ago. What we're likely to see is a concept that takes cues from the Fuse and incorporates them into a more production feasible body shape. We'll no for sure is a couple of weeks when we hit the Big Apple.

I'll be interested to see anything replace the tC... It was Scion's best selling car, and holds the number 1 spot for youngest average owners. This the WAS the gen Y car Toyota hoped for. I hope they don't screw it up.

Also, very ineresting that Hako means "box". They need something boxy after smoothing out all of the xB's lines.

Sorry guys, but if this is gonna replace the tC, that's sad. But on the other hand, It is just a concept. I hope it looks as sick as the tC.

The Tc doesn't need to be replaced it just needs to be updated like the Xb

i think so, it looks for like a rear end cause in the lower part it looks like there could be the hole where the exhaust goes

Looks too steep for the hood tho...And that hole would not be for the exhaust, reverse light.

Guys I hate to stir up more crap .... but I think you're looking at the passenger side rear quarter panel of the car ... those lines resemble a hatch not a hood ...

Just my 2 cents

If that's the case then maybe it's a hard-top convertible thus the awkward trunk hump.

ya know, i could see that too... i think it does really look like a rear end... it has foglight-like holes below what COULD be a headlight... but even so...

it could be worse

I hope they have enough bandwidth to handle everyone going onto scion's website at the same time.

That front end sure looks purdy.

I see where you guys are coming from, but i really don't think that is the rear. Definitely a front. Thats definitely a hood with a fender on the side. Also, you have fog-light cut aways on the bottom.

Does that look like a black rim with a polished lip???
