When Chevy and Dodge release their sports cars, their V8's will have the Displacement on Demand which in a sense can help gas milage. I'm sure Chevy will have DOD in their V6 model like they have in the Impala V6.

wow...i hope that's not going to be the next supra...resembles the current Hyundai Tiburon styling..

please Toyota...don't let the picture be true...hope it looks radically different.

Hyundai Tiburon

second thought..the Scion tC looks like a tiburon too..haha. I guess Tiburon was ahead of its time with design.

well actually, the guy that designed the last supra model was the same guy that designed the tiburon...so there u go...he probably designed this one. notice how the headlights on the last supra model and the tiburon's looks almost identical.

It actually reminds me of an RX-8 and an Aston Martin.

Zoom? I have the high-res image linked... just click.
Yea I click and get a 600px wide image. IE7 has a zoom-in feature 100%-400%

If anyone has not figured it out, Toyota is VERY tight lipped about info on anything.

i have to be honest, the design looks a little bland but the numbers seem to all add up if theyre true. Toyota may have some hills to climb considering they havent put out a serious sports car since the last supra (lexus IS maybe as well), have barely been involved in motorsports lately, and are known for making family cars... so its probably going to have to hinge on price to get people serious about buying it

They are not doing "Sports" cars for a reason. Toyota is know for three things: quality, reliability, and dependabilty. And don't say the last two are the same cause they aren't.

If they sell a "sports" car, people will drive it like it is a sports car. They will abuse it, then bring it back in for warrenty. Then they will go online to the forums they troll and complain about how much the car they drive breaks so much. Want a fun read, check out Townhall @ Edmonds.

Not only that, but it is a nitch market. Camry is the hottest selling vehicle on the market, with average lot time around 8 days. I have had a 2005 Celica on my lot for around 150 days. I have had a 2005 IS 300 5 Speed on the lot for 60 days.

As a vehicle maker, which would you rather have more of, a family car that flys off the lot and sells with a little bit of a profit? or a sports car that sits and has to be sold under invoice?

In the same issue there is pics of the future 2008 350Z and Honda S2000. The S2000 looks sweet, but the 350Z looked like Nissan beat the crap out of it with the "God Aweful" ugly stick.

the G35 and 350Z are selling like crazy! Toyota would mop up if they had a sports car. They don't even need to sell that many, just put a few in the showrooms to pump some blood back into the Name Plate. Come toyota, you have to have atleast one sports car!

To me that car looks perfect. I just hope they offer it with a very metallic silver color.

OO..a college graduation present sounds real nice. Haha, too bad it wont happen. But the good thing is that by the time i graduate and work for a few years, the price for that car shouldn't be as marked up as it will be when it first will be introduced.

Eh, the NSX was a big rip-off. I mean nice car, and I really do like honda/acura but what an overpriced vehicle...

This new Supra reminds me of Mercedes' SL class.
