Spy Shot of Next-gen Scion xB
I think there is a greater similarity to the new Toyota ist posted by SLifer, motz, to the "xB" replacement. With minor differences (4 vs. 5 lug wheel pattern, front fascia).
The new iSt could replace both the xA and xB and something totally different lands in the middle of the current Scion price range.

Ok, reading some threads of people down in Miami, supposedly the new vehicle release was suppose to happen. Cameras were not allowed in from what I have read and heard.
So, can we here form anyone in Miami, if indeed they showed you the xB and xA replacement??? I am sure most of you are partying it up, but if you can share some info please do.
...oh yeah, If I have missed a thread with this info, I apologize in advance.

We DID see the new xD (xA replacement) and the new xB. We couldn't take pictures, and there were a lot of folks making sure we didn't.
Both new machines are a lot more aggressive looking than those being replaced, and while they are "longer, lower, wider, with more power" they are very definitely desirable cars.
I'm an xB driver, so let me give a brief thought or two on the new one: Very aggressive stance, not the familar absolute box shape, but one whole heck of a lot like the t2b...
No sliding doors or suicide doors, just regular doors like on the old xB with door handles like on the old xA. Neat new center console, Damn good looking front end, and a bit of a rake like the t2b. A lot of excellent detail touches and a WHOLE lot of good potential for all sorts of mods. :D
There are so many ways the design of the new one could have gone wrong, but I looks like they avoided them all.
The friendly old box is gone, but it's bigger cousin's in town, and it looks awfully mean.
It's more streamlined, and it looks like it's been working out.
The world will get to see it in Chicago...
Tom
P.S. It does not even suggest PT Cruiser... except maybe it ate a couple for breakfast. :D

Not even a breath on what the prices would be like.
(Just a side note, not only were the Scion owners excited, the Scion corporate folks were JUST as excited.
They really do like cars. The Scion VP was running around talking to as many of us as he could, and was almost like a new dad - if he'd had cigars he would have been handing them out.)
The new xB looks like they were watching and listening to the current model owners - a lot of the changes are the things "we" (collectively) have said we'd like to see, and they took care of some of the design features we didn't like - things like practical inside lighting, etc.
My guess is they have another winner on their hands that will be hard to keep in showrooms.

Oh, just happened to think - my comments above about the new xB are from a person who was fully prepared NOT to like it.
My only major dislike about the new design, is they seem to be calling it an xB
Not only does it need a new name, the old box should be the ONLY vehicle called an xB. Retire the name honorably, Scion. When I say have an xB I want people to know I mean a four wheeled box...
Tomas
P.S. There was a huge (bigger than wall size - probably 12x16 feet - composite print of selected Scion cars and users from ScionLife. I suspect that was a preview of the cover (or centerfold?) of the next Scion mag. I'm also hoping they come out with a poster-size copy of it. Heck, I'd buy one.

Thanks to everyone in Miami who has given us all the scoop on the new models. Too bad no pics, but I pretty much figured they would not let you. Man...Chicago???...I was really hoping Detroit, since I will be going to the show. Oh well I guess it is a big waiting game now.
So, all of you that saw it, how much more cargo room did the xB gain? The only reason I ask, is we just found out that we are going to be adding to our family this coming summer! My wife and I were talking about...I know...dare I say it...a minivan. With one kid the xB did ok, but with two, I am afraid that it will not be big enough for a permanent stroller and other stuff. If the new xB is larger and cargo room grows to as much as...lets say a CRV, then we may be able to avoid going down the minivan route and just get the new xB for my wife.

I must say congrats to you and your wife, I wish for a healthy pregnancy and child. A wonderful gift. I also have to say, that the current xb is good for local trips around town with two car seats(I speak from experience), but for a one on up hour(s) trip forget bout it. We have a double stroller and that is all we can put in the trunk, the rest of the stuff was inside the car. My wife's Minivan was out for service so we took the trip in the box. Not recomended. So I can say yes, let's hope for something bigger. It bothers me to bunch everyone in it. Good Look, best of luck, and again congrats. Send the wife my love, I know you all don't know me, but after what we have been through, I have learned to appreciate the entire process and how much of a blessing it is. Enuff said.
xcube...that for the comments. Trust em I know about trips in the xB. We take the Box everytime we go to Canada...7 hour trip...It holds it own, but with another kid on the way, I can only hope the next B is bigger!!!
