if they change it that much...lets not call it a tC. hate when companies do that...its really not a tC anymore at that point.

I wouldn't worry about that car rendering. Its just a terrible photo chop of the Hako front end and a blurry mess for the rest of the body. I doubt it would look like that. 200 hp and RWD would be awesome though. I'd get one. :D

Rumors that Toyota will market its Subaru co-developed rear-wheel-drive coupe as a Scion in America have been swirling around the net ever since the two Japanese automakers made their plans official this spring. But now we've received word that it's true. According to our inside source, Toyota officials in the U.S. confirmed that the affordable RWD coupe will indeed arrive in the States in late-2010 / early-2011 as the new Scion TC. Further details weren't provided but from what we know up until now, both the Toyota / Scion and Subaru variants of the two-seater compact coupe will get an all-new platform with power coming from a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine pumping out around 200HP.

...two-seater is not a tC....name it something else! raaa...!

From the dimensions released, it does sound like it'd be a 2-seater, but who knows.... If the price comes in that low, it'll still end up being compared to the more expensive performance cars on the market, for better or worse.

"Among the details circulating in the Japanese media: The car reportedly will use a shortened and lightened version of the Impreza platform, with a target weight of around 2,200 pounds. Overall length is said to be less than 160 inches.

The engine will be an updated 175-horsepower version of Subaru's normally aspirated 2.0-liter flat-4, with the potential to add a more powerful 300-hp turbocharged unit as well as all-wheel drive. The Subaru and Toyota variants will share some sheet metal, but will feature distinctive front and rear styling."

I HIGHLY Doubt that this Car will be under the Scion Name. They've been Discussing this for a while now. It's going to be a Subaru everywhere but the States, and a Toyota here in the US. It's gonna' be Badged a Toyota because of the Large Gap in their Option for Affordable Sports Cars. I mean.. What can you get if you can't Afford a 350z (soon to be a more Expensive 370z) or a GTR? Not much.. Three Cars were in the Race.. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the Toyota/Subaru Coalition, and the Nissan "Silvia". The Hyundai Genesis Coupe was the first out the Doors and it's a Killer, now we're just Waiting on the Toyota/Subaru and the Nissan "Silvia". No Offense to Toyota, but I can't wait for the New "Silvia". Reason for the Quotations, it really can't be called a Silvia because it's going to be a "Mini Z", on the Z Platform instead of the S.

if Scion mess up the next gen tC....they r going to face some difficuilties in terms of replacing tC (sales)...because majority of people buy/like tC ( that i know off...no offence to other scion vehicles, i love them) its just a thought!!

I'm pretty sure that the 09' Model is the Last Year for tC. I haven't Read or Heard of any Plans for a 10' Model tC.

You have to give Props to being able to Hide pictures of the New tC!....Usually pictures of New cars leak out everywhere!....Unless people just dont care about Scion's...LoL.....I hope they keep similar Styl'in cues on the next version at least!

200hp + RWD with affordable pricing would be nice, but if it rattles like my tC, then I don't want it.

200hp rwd, a nice tranny and looks almost exactly like the 08 tC....thats what i want. minor changes here or there....

...6 cylinder option, and a 6 speed auto/manual would be great...but i guess thats asking alot.

if u want a car that doesnt rattle and under $20k, then what your looking for is not a car. get a bike, you wont be able to hear any rattles, if it has any. HAHA

Looks like no FI from the factory, and the dealbreaker for me is that infernal boxter engine. Phuq that! I'd rather pedal the car that use that ____e-box of an engine.
Guess I'm keeping my tC.

there are plenty of rendered 'guesses' of what the car will look like. Nothing has even been announced for this car. I doubt it will debut in the LA auto show.

200hp rwd would be sweet for the next tC but they need to make it have 4 seats!
