Toyota just keeps hitting bull’s-eyes with its new products, and the RAV4 is a no exception.

The larger size makes it more desirable and comfortable without giving up the agility that makes these fun-size SUVs a pleasure to drive. It’s more refined and sophisticated with a quiet elegance and that solid well-planted feeling I appreciate.

It’s not cheap, and for a few dollars more, a buyer can step up to a Highlander or 4Runner, but those SUVs are not quite as much fun as the RAV4.

Why are these companies always making their damn cars bigger? People bought these types for their size originally. Making them bigger just shunts them into the overbloated mid size SUV market.

it's a marketing ploy to trick people into spending more on bigger cars. (bubble above my head playing short film: you buy something small/somewhat cheap. then the new model comes out and you upgrade. whoa, now you're in a much bigger car. and next thing you know you're buying a 4runner. fin.)

but seriously, ecandlcubed is right. they will soon come out with another "beginners" suv which the rav4 used to be, and all those rav4 owners will look at it and say, psfff... i ain't buying that low end car it's too small! so now that generation of owners are hooked on a bigger/more expensive car and the cycle starts all over.

It's not. They ONLY have a an aux jack, no iPod control available. It's a straight Panasonic/JBL head unit, whereas ours is the Pioneer/Matsu____a head unit. To be fair, though, it sounds pretty damn good, and the upgrade JBL radio sounds REALLY good.
