Default $100 repaint of TC

So about two weeks ago we had some hail here, and I couldn't get my car into the garage fast enough...it got hit for about 5 minutes. It was actually the only car within a several house radius that was damaged, even though most folks don't have garages and got hit for about 25 minutes. God dammed soft paint on the tc.

Anyways, I file a claim because the car has dozens of pockmarks where the hail went through the tc's clearcoat. No real body damage. Initial estimate was 2500, with several body panels to be repainted. After 4 days of being in the shop, I called and was told it was worse than they intially though, and they had to repaint the entire car. woot! 2 year old car with 48K get s new paint job for $100 deductible.

It was starting to look a bit beat up, with various scratches and a big dent from a softball in the hood. Hopefully it will look brand new now.

No, they did the body and paint work on it when it took nearly 10K in damages in an accident when it was 6 months old. It's a quality shop, one of the few in the area that are "preferred" by my insurance company.

um dude, what insurance do you have? I have state farm and gap insurance and it would have been totalled if the repaired were over 10K worth of damage. Thats almost a new car!!!!

If they had to repaint the car i would do a dual tone and pay the remaining cost to do it.. If you paint the bottom half you wouldnt have to paint the engine bay, or inside the doors if you choose not to.. YUM!!

Good luck, and make sure you find out what brand of paint they are using, SERIOUS BUISNESS WITH THE BRAND....

Later.

Good deal. If it were mine.. It would go back the same color.. or very close.. I love my IIP :D I was actually thinking of the same base color with a tad more pearl in it.

Enjoy the new paint!

im disgusted by my BSP tC already, its got 30k miles and ive had it for 11 months. I do a lot of freeway driving and just from that the hood and bumper have countless tiny chips almost to the metal all over it, i dont like people looking at my car closely thats how bad it is... then my car got bb gunned a while back so i have 2 hits on my rear quarter panel and passenger door about the size of a quarter where there is NO paint its all metal.... have no idea what to do about all this. my insurance im assuming wont pay for the bumper or hood to be resprayed since its not in any connection to the bb gun hits. any ideas?

"Almost a new car" is the key word. 10 grand does not equal the 16 grand it was worth. Hell I could do that much damage, 2 years old, and it still would not be totalled. Grrr...But it was repaired very nicely and there no was frame damage.

I kind of like the IIP color. I wouldn't have minded a different color, but that stuff isn't the highest priority to me when I have a wedding coming up in 9 months and the bills need to be paid every couple weeks.

Default Pearl Azure

Hi Guys,

I think your Scions are stunning, particulaly the PEARL AZURE coloured ones.

Unfortunately, I'm just a student and can't afford such a beast, but I have a nice old 1982 944 Porsche project car that I am restoring and would love to paint it Pearl Azure just like the Scion, this would really emphasize the curves and give it a modern look.

Could anyone tell me the colour code, year and model info to help me get this stunning colour mixed?

Many thanks in advance,
Best

Alex
