actually the function could be saving the bumper from scraping on the ground. i'd rock it if my lip wasn't already 4 inches from the ground.

How would it save you from scraping..? You're either going to hit it or not, doesn't matter if you have a lip...If you do have this lip, and hit, then you wouldn't have hit, prior to having the lip..

 

well, i'd rather scrape the rubber/foam of the home depot lip rather than the plastic of my bumper

 

You're missing my point...the lip doesn't physically raise your bumper, it just extends it down. If you were to hit something with the bumper, then add the lip...you're still going to hit the exact same thing, in the exact same place. The lip isn't going to protect it at all.

 

this thread and this mod suck, its one of the worst ideas that this site has seen... besides all those ebay tail light threads...

Well your decision in getting a woodgrain interior pieces is Pretty "Sucky" as Mod too...Who would get that for a tC?...

It's funny, if most of us saw this on a honda it would be in thew rice and taters thread...but someone does it to a scion and its applauded? I don't get it. Really though not bieng a but...but does not flow or look right. $12 ground effects on a 20k car?

There is a use for this small "mod". If you put the HD lip under an RS1 lip, and were to scrape, the HD lip will fold over and "protect" the RS1 lip from scratching. That, and it will further lower your car for that sweet street sweeper look. You might actually get to sweep the streets with this mod. So yes, I do think it does have a use.

Is it ghetto as hell? Yes, it is. But, I don't recall people bashing on the GFI though (If anyone remembers the GFI)... I'll have to read the whole thread on that again...

this is a cheap and tacky mod,

i chose wood because NOBODY HAS IT, and anyways you cant compare my wood grain to this piece of rubber sht taped to your bumper lol.
