Default **Projector headlights**

Ok, so im not to talented when it comes to the creative ideas. But I do want new projector headlights so i can purchase some HID and have a clean cut off. I see a lot of people do the retro style. Unless you are in San Antonio early next year it dont look like im going to be going this route.

So, Does anyone have a website to buy some nice projectors. I have done the SEARCH button plenty of times and have not seen anything with recent updates, most of it is old stuff.

i've been to HIDplanet.com and have not seen projector headlights for sale. aight guys thanks for looking out.

it sounds like your going the cheap route, best option is the 2008-09 stock "halogen" projector headlights for the tC other than going cheaper and buying a crappy set of ebay projector headlights. although dont expect a sharp cutoff, my GF has an 09 camry which uses the same projectors as the 2008-09 tC headlights and of course my HID retro blows hers away. even putting HIDs in them will only make it "brighter" somewhat, not by much and dont expect a sharper cutoff by putting HIDs. HIDPlanet.com will only sell OEM parts to do a retro in which you dont want to do. If you have the money to spend check out Lightwerkz.net. Ceasar does some awsome work and he did my retro, here's a few pics....

then your best option is to purchase a set of 2008-09 tC projector headlights from TRDSparks.com, eBay or the classifieds on here?

Short of doing a retro your self which might not be a good starting place for modding.

It can get spendy fast if yo screw it up......

you can use the 08 headlights with HIDs,it looks ok,but not nearly as good as a retro does.

Here is a recomended site www.izntrbl.com if you want a retro......it is expensive to do.

08s aren't as sharp or even as a retro'ed unit. And 08s also have a hump in the housing which some people like/dislike.

^yep.....08-09 headlights are halogen projectors and not HID projectors. My cutoff is very nice on mine, and the output is very nice, but a real HID projector is night and day as to how the light comes out and looks.

Basically by the time you source out a set of 08 headlights and a HID kit youa re just a couple hundred short of a nice set of retros.

Question then, for my own future projects...can't you retro the '08 headlights if you wanted? It should still come out nice and you're no longer halogen projectors...

thoughts?

yes you can and actually thats the easiest way. i opted to do the "custom" way so it can look more unique. unlike the 08-09 projector headlights its a simple swap of halogen projectors with HID projectors but still wont look custom unless you turn them on of course.

Oh, well I have some tricks up my sleeve for that...hehehe

But thank you for telling me that...now all I need is to find some HID projectors and I'm good! Already got some bulbs lined up.

With 4300k, you don't get that blue(ish) look like what the luxury car's have.

its pure white with a "hint" of blue. I get my blue from my cutoff. the "blue" on those fancy cars are the bulbs "color shifting". meaning they loose output after a certain amount of running hours on the bulbs. thats the only reason they look more blue. although in this case i would have performance over style.

With the 08 headlights you can not have Halo/angel eyes can you? if so i really dont wanna go that route. unless there is a way to put halo on the lights still?
