i didnt use the rubber hood stop location either, its more to the left of it, next to the headlights..

imo they look better cuz it flows with the car, yours kinda jus stick out.

Hope there isn't too much pressure. You already have a latch holding it down and a secondary latch in case that one doesn't catch. The only function of the hood pins is that they stop your hood from lifting just in case your first two latching mechanisms don't do their job. I just don't want to see a thread that says you were on the freeway and your hood cracked because your pins were holding it down too tight.

I have the Sparco hood pins. Better safe than sorry with an investment as big as a cf hood.

I mounted them at the rubber hood stop location. (Sorry I don't have a great picture).

for thoes of you that did them from the rubber bumper locations, are they tipped like forward? I tried to install them today and they were too forward so i stopped because i was scarred. Not really wanting to ruin a 500$ hood.

what are the damages to the carbon fiber against rain, dust, etc? would you put a clear coat in between the drilled holes?

tC2 - mine are not tipped forward? do you have the sparco pins? i would try to fix it. you don't want them to lean when youd rill the holes cuz you'll have to make the holes bigger if you know what i mean,

B_tC - no damages with rain or dust, and that info is from experience. the only thing you really gotta watch out with/ cf is for the sun so it doesn't yellow the hood. i wax mine weekly and always keep it clean. so far it's withstood one arizona summer just fine.
