Question 05-07 Headlights vs. 08+?

Just wondering your opinions on headlights.. A guy offered me his 06's + $100 for my 08's and I was wondering which headlights you guys liked better and what are the major differences?

o5-o7 like I have on my o8 Spec

IMO I never like the bobbing flashlight effect from projectors
& the 08+ covers stick out more.

yup, you would. stock 08's have H11 bulbs. stock 05-07' have 9006 bulbs. they wouldn't fit, unless you get a pigtail for your harness.

personally, I wouldn't trade. If he offered you his 05-07' Headlights + $200 for your 08' headlights, then maybe. but your 08' looks and out performs 05-07' any day.

I don't like the look of the 08+ personally. Not as aggressive/mean looking. More girly IMO. I wouldn't take his though unless they are in absolutely perfect condition.

depends. 05-07 gives you more choices of bulbs (9006), but if you choose to put an HID on, you'll have retarded glare and blind everybody.

08 and up give you fewer bulbs choices (h11), but if you choose to do HID's, you'll have a better cut-off. also i think they make the car look more refined and luxurious with the projector housing versus the reflective housing of the older ones. but i like both really.

I'll give you my o5-07's!!! And i'll give you some DDM 55W 6000K hid lights with a slim ballast. And if you even want, I'll throw in my CCFL Dual Halo projectors. Been wanting some 08 lights for a while now. I'v only had the Dual Halos for about two weeks! They look mean

and plus, you have to pay for shipping twice, and you have to wait like two months for lightwerkz to do it.

If i didn't have to wait and pay for shipping twice, then I would do this in a heartbeat.

I got rid of my retarded glare by simply angling the headlights down until the glare cut-off was at the stock projector cut-off. Still awesome light output and I keep the aggressive headlamp. I do like those pimp retros though, just not worth 1000 of my money Very nice looking though.

You have to buy the parts yourself? I thought you had to ship it there, and pay for shipping back. And sorry, on his site just sounded like it would take up to two months or so.

So, just curious, but was the price around $650 for the full retro? I have crappy ebay projectors right now :/

even though you lowered the beam, you still have glare.

you buy the parts you want for the retro, projectors, bulbs, ballast, shrouds. all you need to send him is the projectors and shrouds. keep the bulbs and ballast since he wont need them. shipping wasnt that expensive. use those flate rate boxes from USPS. i saved up for mine and its well worth it right now. i love driving at night!

Glare isn't my problem. I've been behind multiple cops with them on and never had an issue. If you don't like them, too bad. People have high beamed my buddies 09 with his HID's in so no matter what you can't win. The Bimmer we used to have got high beamed all the time and they were OEM. The fvck it factor kicks in after that.
