Default 08 BSP = BSM *Updated With Pics*

Its a sunny day, went to a Toyota-Scion dealership near me today. I wanted to take a look at the SCM and WLP tC's in person in the sun. They do look great btw. I noticed something else though. All of the BSP's they had on the lot werent pearl, they were metallic. I looked at the sheet and I was right, Black Sand Metallic. There was a FM tC sitting right next to it so I was sure it wasnt an FM. On a sunny day theres a huge difference in color between the two.

I didnt either. On the website it still says Black Sand Pearl. If you go look in person though you will see what I mean.

The weather is finally nice so I went back to take pictures. Here is one of the card in the window to show the color and another of the actual car itself. Sorry the window pic is a little bit blurry.

I like it. Would hide dirt a bit better with it being metallic than pearl would.

I noticed that too when buying my CSM.........the BSP has metallic in it........it is a very hot color on the car with the metallic in it........I had not seen a BSP before so I figured that was just how they all were......

I really like it metallic too. Looks just like a BSP from a distance when you come up close you can see the metallic flakes like on an FM. Although with alot of sunlight the color looks a little bit lighter than BSP almost like a very dark grey.

looks the same as bsp to me.

I really dislike the pearl/metallic look. I wish they made a pure jet black one. thats what I really want.

one of these days i'd like to repaint my tc. The factory paint sucks.

They need to stop making pearl ones and put out a GLOSS Black.

went to the lot couple days ago. looked at the BSM in person. Looks exactly the same as a BSP, only added about a gram of metallic to the sparkle.

I parked next to a BSM at the dealership. I can tell the difference. I'de say the metallic gives it more of a shine when it's been washed. But in the end, I want it to be BLACK, not dark dark grey when it's in the sun.

Ya it looks very similar to BSP still but under direct sunlight it looks almost like FM does in the shade. I really like this minor change, it might hide dirt a little better than a pearl paint would.

Oh i didn't realize they were different. I just bought a 08 and my sticker says Black Sand Metallic too. I just assumed it was the same as BSP. Thanks for the clarification.
