Default '08 tC headlight cutoff... pics needed, also, have Q's

ok heres the thing... I have a '05 tC and as some of you know, it got broken into a month ago... so I have a replacement pair of 08 headlights... (thanks to Fitzgerald toyota for being most cooperative)

I want to put these 08 headlights in and want to know if they have a cutoff? I NEED PICS OF THE CUTOFF... thanks all of you for ur input.

Another thing... I want to put HID's in the 08's. Do i just buy an H11 HID kit or buy a 9006 HID kit and get H11 HID Bulbs?

thanks!

buy an HID kit with a 9006 harness and ask for H11 bulbs. Cut off on the 08s are decent with HIDs considering they're made for halogen use. All lights have a cutoff or else they would just glare into everyone else's eyes

edit: this thread was like 5 below yours.

they have cut-offs, but they aren't actually made for HID's, you tend to get some hot spots. there are many threads showing what they look like, or just go to a scion meet and see what kanundrums look like.

let me ask you something- are u happy with the light output of the projectors.
also, do u know how they stack up (in brightness) against the 05-07 headlights?

thanks

Actually, Yes I would... I used to have a '07 with HID's... It seemed to me that the '05-07 were "brighter", my reasons for saying that is because the light would just "spray" everywhere so it just lit up everything... Whereas the '08 are more focused and reduce glare/spray because of the projector and have a fairly clean cutoff for non HID housings... IMO, if you have the '08 headlights already use them, you won't be disappointed... In all reality the '08 are brighter for seeing the ground, and it helps by not blinding 50 cars ahead of you in the opposite lane ... Overall, I'm much happier with the '08 headlights than my old '07 headlights (for HID's anyway)...

I agree also, the '08s are a definite improvement over the '05-'07 halogen lamps. Plus they look 10x better
