I've been wondering about this. If you have a perfect cut-off, doesn't that mean you can't read street signs at night anymore?

 

It's not a perfect cutoff. It still has the stair-step line, but the squirrel spotters just help illuminate more. I just kept mine as is since it works better. It's a very faint light, even with HIDs.

 

I think I'll install it as-is. I wonder if someone can find a toyota with projectors and HID stock and check if they left the squirrel spotters on those - if so, I'm not going to cut visibility more. I suppose I can always modify more later, but I don't want to take this things apart too much. Maybe I'll just do the "easy" fix and bend the tabs down to cut most of the light.

whats with the funky purple stuff on the eyelid?

 

It was BRIGHT outside. I think my polarizing filter made the lenses on the lights kind of prismatic. It did it in some pics but not in others.

 

did you add the filter or did it come with it?

 

Filter on the camera, not in the lenses...

For those not converting to HID's - Not sure if this was posted before...but wanted to share with everyone that I found a harness which will allow 05-07 TCs w/ 9006 headlight harnesses to convert to the H11 (Halogen) bulb needed for the 08 projectors. $40 but no cutting/splicing of the oem harnesses.

I'll go with my cut 'n splice for $6, any day. Good option for those afraid of snips, though.
