u need to adjust the place ment of the latch maybe u can move it up a tiny bit... theres also rubber stoppers just above the headlights u need to move down by tightening them... u can also adjust where the hood on the mounting brackets that opens and closes the hood... either left or right

hope that helps some

It was on my Toyota Solara. F*ck VIS, and for those using other branded CF hoods, for your own sake..use hoodpins, I cannot stress this enough.

yea there is so many adjustments that can be made to the hood every point were you fasten it down can be adjusted. and oh yea i would recomend some hood pins! fiberglass hoods suck when they fly up and smash your windshield and possiably smash the glass on top to.

Luck of the draw I guess, some people have no issues, and others just get royally owned.

payattn2me, try to get the shop you bought it from to get an exchange or something..an illfitted hood is the last thing you want, expecially with an all glass roof.

You can even shift your fenders to match with the hoods. Its not hard. When I had to get a new driver side fender there was a huge gap wit the hood and it was all stock. All you do is get a wide thin piece of metal and wrap it in a rag so you dont scratch it. And just put it in the jam and push or pull.

yeah same here, i have gap problems with my hood and to close it i have to slam on it hard for it to shut propertly, dumb thing faded like in 4-5 months of having it and i would wash and wax it alot but nothing helped it out. when i'm driving i can hear that it's loose and wants to pop up, too bad that my OEM hood smashed but i'm looking into hood pins, sparco or NRG(since they have the small ones that aren't noticeable)

IMHO VIS quality has declined over the past few years, I know a few people who have had pretty major fitment issues, not just minor ones as expected, I had a CF hood for my Type-s back in the day and it was perfect but lately idk, just don't seem to be to great

thanks for all ur help. i've tried the rubber stoppers... that didn't do nething. i raised the latch alil and it actually locked on and closed but the entire hood looks raised. How do you adjust the mounting brackets?
Should i get it professionally installed or just get a longer hook welded on? Even if it installed by a shop.. u think they'd be able to raise the latch?
soo freaken frustrating...

you can't weld on another latch cause the hood is fiberglass/carbonfiber. yeah i've seen soon other VIS hoods and they look abit better than mine but there is very few good ones out there. too bad some of us got the bad ones.

well the only way to keep a carbon fiber hood from fadeing is to have it clear coated. it helps to block out the uv rays. my buddy has had his hood on his s2k for about 3 years and before he had it put on cleared it, no fadeing at all.
