Default A6 Single Xenon Cutoff What do you think?

Okay guys, i was thinking how does this cutoff looks like. See below:

I want to retro this a6 projector in my tC and was having second thoughts because of the cutoff.
NEVERTHELESS, i know i can make a custom shield/plate that will change the lighting output! SO

Please vote and give me some feed back

i think its 'OK' at best...it looks blurry. are they Valeo or Hella? stock or modded? you can achieve wonders with some aluminum flashing or a coke can.

that's not exactly the crisp clear cutoff that i've seen on retro sites like hidplanet.... nevertheless, with some "modifications" it should be alright :D

you can cut a coke can with scissors, actually a kitchen shear works best. dremel is overkill.

A6 I beleive is a hella projector. The fuzziness of the cuttoff is due to the fresneled lense of the DOT version. In order to sharpen you would need to swap it with a clear lense. My advice, sell those on ebay and get a pair of A6 ECE, its actually a pretty good projector with a clear lense and lots of color. Please don't paint it. A clear lense and a washer mod should give you al the color you need.

By the way it will be difficult to generate interest on this subject on this forum. Not exactly HID nerds over here. Oh and congrats and good luck on the retro.

yup thanx,

yes these are DOT projectors, with the ripple like lense

I think i will working with these for a bit, just for testings. If all goes well, i will just use them

i got my kit for 270. (ballast, bulbs projectors) all i need is the wiring harness which my older brother can make.

and yeah i know they are not HID fan here, but hopefully i can enlighten them with my projects ^^
maybe i should make my tech article geared toward HID nooblets so they can learn more about them ^__^

270$ is a great deal. My original setup was bulbs ballast and e55 bixenon projectors for $225. The e55s ended up being RHD, but I found a foreign buyer to give me 140$ for them. I kept buying and selling 'till I came across some Valeo ece with purple coated lense. Looks cool when lights are off and doesn't effect output or color in anyway. I am now rocking those with DOT shields, best color I've seen.

haha okay,k so refer to my first picture, you see where the light pattern? it goe sbright then all the suddent goes black. Portion where lights slowly gets cutoff(thus called cutoff) is the cutoff line ^__^

with out that shield... it'll look like this

still in the projector, no shield. looks kinda like demon eyes O_o
