hey guys i have a scion tc and was wondering what do u recommend for a muffler and air intake? im looking to add one thanx in advance

 

Are you looking for power or sound? Both? Price range?

Intake: many have the Injen... but the new AEM is supposed to be pretty nice as well. The TRD is "pretty much" a rebagged AEM with the bypass valve. Or that's at least the way it appears.

Exhaust: I have no idea - to get any real power gains, you're going to have to do the whole thing. Or don't start with the "muffler" ... start with a header and work your way back.

 

yea im looking for both sound and also to add abit of horsepower to the tc....price roughly prolly hopefully maximum about $300? i think

 

intake yes, but a true exhaust system, Catback, header S pipe will put you way out of your budget, a muffler wont do anything.......

I don't think you could even get a good sounding axleback for $300. Intake, yes.

 

yea i was just talkin about the air intake....i was just hoping to buy the air intake and willing to spend max about 300 for it

 

yea im thinkin of adding the intake first and then a muffler...max $300 for the air inatke and im not reeli sure how much a good muffler wud b but i prolly assume around $300 also? i hope im nor wrong

 

That'll be easy enough... Like I said, Injen and now AEM are both pretty popular and have decent HP gains... whether or not you can really "notice" the gain is another thing.

Injen is $235 shipped from www.showstoppersusa.com and I think you can get the AEM pretty cheap from eBay.

 

I did a little research about it, I am thinking to buy Injen CAI and TRD exhaust. I do have a cheap intake on mine which my friend built for me, but I don't know how much difference it will make if I get Injen intake...
Is it going to differ a lot?

 

Depends on how thought out the "cheap" one is. The size of piping and type of filter and such can matter.

 

yea... i dont know how cheap it is since he built it and just gave it to me
i tried to find the sound clip but all they had was intake with exhaust... is there sound clip with only Injen CAI intake?

 

IMO Injen CAI is the best. It has a great sound and the best hp gains. Muffler...that's all up to you. I like the HKS because of the deep throaty sound but the hp gain is minimal. if you want good hp and sound i think the magnaflow is the best with a custom piping job (mandrel bent) from a muffler shop (no more than 2.5").
