If I may share my opinion on this in correspond to my experience with the E46 shrouds. The extension on the shrouds is a good idea to cover up gaps, but the E46 shrouds alone (before the extension) is big enough block the chrome rim of the housing when closing up the lenses. When sealing up the headlights, there will be a conflict between the shrouds and the chrome rims in the housing. You need to consider on how to curve the shrouds inward a bit so that it would not get lock in to the housing rims. If you let the housing lock in to the shroud, you can't close the headlight lenses. Even if you manage to close the lens all the way in, you will not be able to level your cutoff up and down using the screws in the back. This is caused by the direct contact between the shrouds and the housings. I'm sure you facing this problem right now.

lights look great ... i did the same thing minus the fiberglass which makes yours look awesome

my constructive input to you would be to smoke the side markers ...or paint that crom little trim piece black ...seems that just the shroud being black stands out a little ...know what i mean ? just something to think about

I tried my best to make sure that the fiberglass is inwards. i guess i'll find out when installation time comes in.

About the leveling, I jbweld it in right now so that sucker aint moving. which means there will be no leveling after installing. I think my passenger's side might be a bit high up but after spending so much time with trying to level this sucker, i'll just leave it as is.

hmmm,
am really trying to go for the OEM look. which is why i didnt smoke the side marker. but now you have got me thinking about the chrome trim piece. i might just leave it the way since I just tire of inhaling too much fume from painting.

by the way, did u paint your chrome trim. if you got a pic, that might give me some idea of how its going to look.

actually thats the only thing am waiting for other than letting the clear coat from the other shroud to dry up. I broke three of my halos so I ordered some on monday. got an email today about the rings being shipped. so my guess is finish working on this some time next week.
I was hoping to complete it this weekend.

I have made a lot of progress this week. the light is near. The headlights have been sealed back up and are currently being silconed.
its been raining here a lot so, I have to make sure to waterproof all the ballast before installing. so I'll be doing that tonight and if everything drys up, i'll install tonight or tomorrow.

here are a few pics of the progress so far

halos installed and tested on the car

hid start up

once i get it install, i'll send a pic of the cut off

Ok fellas, I am finally done with my installation. here are the pics for your viewing pleasure

Now the cutoff. I do realise that the passenger's side is aimed higher than the drivers side. But by the time I noticed the projectors were already jbweld. so I got the step effect. but its not that bad so I let it slide

Thanks guys.

took the hids for a spin. I didnt like the way the drivers side looks on the road. the short cutoff shorten the distance lit on the road. The passengers side looked good. So I'll redo the driver side and raise the cutoff to that of the passengers side. I'll take another shot at it in a couple of weeks.
