Ive had my car repainted twice and it has yet to match.....i heard something about the new pearls or somethin like that but i called the scion dealership and they said they didnt know anything abut it...any info would be appreciated

and yes, the paints scion/toyotas is using nowadays is mixed with a new pearl...

but anytime you paint just part of a car, the paint will not match...the only way it will match is if the paint as mixed all at once and some saved for future use.
otherwise you have to try and match. a hald drop too much of one color will throw off the color.

 

When I got my car the dealer had screwed it up - put some holes in the rear trunk lid to install a spoiler I didn't want, so they repainted it. It matches perfectly. I understand it's hard to match paint colors, but a brand new car shouldn't have faded yet, so it should be doable. If you can't get it done, it sounds like you're using the wrong paint.

 

it is not a matter of the paint fading...
it about getting the right chemicals like when/where it was first painted.

did you ever go on a road trip and drink a coke from another part of the country? tastes different then back home right...

thats the same with paint. sometimes they can get real close as it looks the same. but usually its a bit off...

unless you paint the whole car.

 

I am having troubles with it also. First attempt at colormatching the hood to the rest of the car failed badly. Going to try again this week.
