The front one? It would leave a big blank oval in the center.

You will have to paint it black or it wont look right. I painted my logo and trim ring black as you can see in the pic below. I used a flat blade screwdriver to gently remove it from the grill to paint it. I used clear silicone adhesive to reapply it onto the car.

Looks great, I plan to do same. Was it difficult to remove the grill in order to paint the trim?

difficult and grill (with this car) don't go together.

the grill assembly just pops out (only clipped on) and the chrome ring is screwed onto the honeycomb portion.

may want to take off the whole bumper cover to get at the grile better if your arms are to big to get to it comfortably. but thats really easy to do too. search for the instructions for that if you need it, its in the tech section.

I used dental floss to take off my emblems. If its cold outside, heat up your emblems with a hair dryer. It may take you awhile with floss, but it beats nicking your paint with a screwdriver. If you take off the emblems, you'll have to deal with alignment pegs on the "Scion" emblems. The "tC" emblem is the easiest to remove. So, by removing the "Scion" ones you'll have holes on your hatch and grill where the alignment pegs are supposed to go. BTW-you don't have to paint it shiny. I used Dupli-Color Semi-Gloss Black paint. Take a peek...

Looks fine to me with a non-painted grill.

I'm having my front and rear Scion emblems professionally black chromed next week. I'll get picks up as soon as they're done.

For those of you in the Nashville area call John Goodwin @ Goodwin Mobil Plating: 6159481902. he does great work.
