You sure about that? Often dealers will get new cars tinted to enhance the appearance and help sell them...

So your old window was tinted and now your new one isnt, so try getting your window tinted again. Privacy glass is just their way of saying tinted windows and try to charge you more.

^ agreed. The old dealership I used 2 work used to put a lot of aftermarket things on like wheels/tires, navi, lowering springs, tint ect. To add to the total value.

tint is not on the outside of the glass, its on the inside of the glass.... im pretty sure it was tinted like how everone else is saying. if all tC's had this "privacy glass" you're talking about, then everyone's back hatch glass would be tinted black and thats just not the case. there are people on here that have gotten a tC with no tint on any glass including the back hatch one.. just get it tinted at a local shop and call it a day...

I'm not sure how the tC's are, but when I bought my 2008 xB, it came stock with privacy glass. Meaning, the glass for the rear windows and rear windshield are tinted on the inside of the glass. It runs at about a 30-35% tint. I can only assume that koch28328 had the same kind of privacy glass that my xB came stock with (and all 2nd generations xB's have, as well).

@koch28328: As for the green tint deal, bring it to a tint shop and find out if they can remove it, or tint over it and get you better results. If it's green, it's most likely tinted and can be peeled away. If not, hopefully some black tint will rectify that inequity.

No privacy glass has ever been offered with the tC from the factory. Yes with an xB as standard with most SUV's on today's market, however the tC never had privacy glass offered. The dealer likely tinted the window with a very light tint 55% or so and sold it marketed as a "privacy" glass. None the less, for this situation the easy remedy is simply to tint the window, its cheap, you can get any darkness you want, and will look good.

The "Green tint" in question is likely the "hue" in the glass. If you look at Mercedes they often have windows appearing blue. This is simply a UV film that's in the glass to protect for UV rays. Its not an actual tint film that can be touched.

Koch, are your side windows in the rear also "privacy glass" or darkened?
