just wondering, did fiveaxis ask a different manufacturer than the one for the fiveaxis production tc to make these grilles? cause if its the same manufacturer, how come the quality is different?

 

the ones on the special tCs were made as the cars were made, and even then that was like only 50 so mass producing them as they are trying to do here isnt profitable.

 

^ Just to clear things up, the Longo Spec tC's did not come with the FIVEaxis grills, they were going to be included, but did not find a manufacturer in time of the release. As far as the one that is seen on the FIVEaxis spec display car, it is a one-off made in house by the FIVEaxis team, there are only 2 grills currently in existence.

hey along with everything you are doing..can you ask Troy to start a production on an exhaust heat shield for the five axis rear lip?

 

I havent had a problem with my exhaust on the rear lip. Then again im using the Dezod exhaust so its an OEM style and not angled or a big fart can.

 

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was sick over the weekend and still recovering. Hopefully I infect enough people around my desk so I can have some quiet time LOL.

The one you see in Post #1 is a one-off (or 2 off...). It was milled using Five Axis' special Five Axis machine. It's not cost effective at all to create product that way, but it's a great way to see how the end product will look.

Since it will be mass produced, it's sent out to a manufacturer. This manufacturer will have to conjur up a sample and send it over for approval. Unfortunately the sample wasn't up to Five Axis' standards. Another manufacturer has been contacted to get a sample going.

Everything is simply lying in the hands of the prospective manufacturer and Five Axis' approval. Aside from that, everything is good to go.

The price shown in Post #1 was tentative. The new manufacturer may cost more (or hopefully less) to produce the grille. The price will vary slightly, but not by too much. That's why we've kept this open discussion to ensure everyone will be aware of what they're getting into.

As for the rear lip exhaust shield-- which exhaust are you running?
