He's PM'ing 10 people per week and confirming with them, not sure what set he's up to, but they want to get 50-60 people confirmed that they'll purchase it before giving the go-ahead for production.

Sorry for the lag guys. It's a fun short-staff week, so I've been running around like a headless chicken. I'll read all the posts I've missed and update this particular post and address any of the questions and concerns, along with updates the first post's "FAQ" section.

Answers to questions:
As close as it gets. Troy is very particular with the tiniest of details and wouldn't release something that's off-color.
The unpainted version will be a flat black.
The painted version (will be painted @ our CRC or @ Five Axis) will have a painted outter surround. The 'mesh' part of the grille will remain flat black. The "surround" border will be color matched. Both will look nice, but depends on your personal taste.
If the grille was fully color matched.... I don't think it'll look good. I mean, FM and BSP may look ok... but a CSM or SW grille... Not my flavor. It would be easier to paint it if it was the full grille also. Since it's the surround, it involved meticulous taping to ensure only the surround is painted. I threw the paint idea into the mix for it to be slightly more unique based on the owner's preferences.
In regards to the grille, there are a few other ways to produce the grille that he's planning to look into after SEMA. Basically a more cost effect (aka cheaper for you guys!) way to get it done. That will drop the price and the minimum amount required. I can't get too deep into that part of it at the moment, but will have news on this if we don't acheive the numbers required to get this production method going.
It's been a long journey with this grille. At the time of this posting, 27 of 80 have confirmed. I'll post up the confirmed list when I have some time to type some more.

does the flat black match the black oem grilles if it does i think it would match the first gen lower grille nicely?
