i actually had a cop come in my store the other day and he saw my car and commented that he knew of a tC that had gotten stolen the other day cause the guy had the tow hook installed at all times and the thief just hooked it up a tow truck and went away with it. haha

i told him i was glad someone did that to the RICER.

tons of cars have places for tow hooks.. not just the tC.. and most people leave them covered up. Having it in is like saying your car is such a pos it breaks down and needs towed all the time If it was and old Chevette, I would probably be all for leaving the tow hook in

i just don't understand the fad. how is a metal rod with a loop hanging from it cool? it kills the body lines and makes absolutely no sense at all.

if it was a full on race car i would understand cause they get towed around the track a lot. but for a daily driver it just looks rice and screams "im an idiot and my car is a POS"

its the same thing as stickers and graphics. it gives a racecar look and/or implies the car is fast. LOL.

same reason people put roll bars in street cars. i dont think those people reasonably expect to roll their cars over.

first off everyone talking crap about the hook is appartley retarded, your not going to steal a car from a hook that is offset to one side, if so it will be dragging down the road at an angle, or would not go straight up a trailer as such, and it doesnt say im a pos and breaks down all the time, the hook is there in case of being stuck off in a ditch or snow for you northern drivers, its there to quickly help you get pull out of a bad situation. thats why it is a required part on full out track cars, so your not having to dig down low in the dirt to pull the car out or ect., must people run them for the same reason guys run adj coilovers on a street car, or lightweight race wheels and race rubber on a car that is an automatic, because to them its what they choose to do weather they use it for what it is intended for or not. not every car on here belongs to you, why would you want everyone to do the things you like to a car, then there will be a 100000 tC's all looking the same and we would be no better of fthen just going to the dealership and leaving them stock from the get go!

like i said, its a "race look" to see the hook, who cares if one guy runs it, and another doesnt it, i happen to put mine in and out quite often, sometimes i like the look, sometimes i dont, thats what is best about it, its that easy to change back

I'm not sure if you can compare a totally non-functional tow hook to coilovers and lightweight wheels with race tires... I'm not even sure where that comes into play.

Yes, it's required on full track cars for the reason you're stating. But serves zero purpose on a street car. It's in the trunk for easy access so you still don't have to dig down in the dirt. You get it out of the trunk and put it in the bumper. Easy.

it has all the same things to do with it, you choose to run a cover over the hole and others choose to run the hook, just cause someone has it in and doesnt use it is no reason to knock them, just like a car fully raced out with a big stereo that never sees a track is that persons choice. and it is funtional, maybe not at the moment, but you never know, all im saying is get over yourselfs, tie my car to a pole and see what happens, and just so you know dr iso, i lost respect for you, as a bussiness man selling a product, its not nice to go out and bash those who buy your stuff. think about things like that before you speak. i know you have a large support group and lots of guys buy from you, but i wont never mention your name again and i sure wont display it on any mods list, just bad bussiness, you have to understand that someones desire to customize is what keeps money in the pockets of guys like you, so for you to talk crap on what someone chooses weather you like it or not is not cool. call me old fashion, but it bothers me

I've never seen those pics, And I'm usually from the "If you don't have something nice to say..." school... but the tow hook is definitely my Top Pet Peeve of the Month.

I just don't understand it.

i understand that not everything anyone does is going to make everyone happy, there are a ton of things i dont understand, but thats what i like about our cars, and this hobby, cause it allows you to do what you like. thats all, not everything on your car is something i would like to see on a tC, but i have never left a neg comment cause its "your" car.

true, and so are the rest of the parts installed on his car, but not everyone can say that cause so many folks buy things just to have them. not everything on your car is used to the fulliest. this arguement can go on and on, all im saying is if someone sees something on a track car and likes it, let them put it on there street car, alot of the things we do are insired from race cars. so let it go.

I misread the title and thought "why the hell would you want a tow hook that's made out of old Levis?"
