Bentlety Continental Supersport - TBL Project
Hey Everyone!
Well, it's been a while since I've messed around with a new project for my tC. As some of you may know from the past, I always am trying to find new ideas/modifications that make the tC stand out just a little more from the rest. And with the tC's successor coming out very soon, this is true now more than ever.
SO, I'd like to do this to my tC:
Relocate the Third Brake Light from the garnish area to along the upper part of the rear window. I've thought along the same lines as the Oznium TBL upgrade for the 1st and 2nd Gen xB's...but the tC's window is about 43" wide.
From this, I'm sure some of the creative juices are flowing in all you tC owners, and even other model owners. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I'm still kind of playing with the idea. In retrospect of safety, 4 brake lights wouldn't be bad at all, but that might be a little much. I did have the thought of converting the LED's in the TBL to white and have that tied into the reverse lights, that way it's still 3 brake lights but just an extra reverse light (more visible to other drivers). At least you keep the OEM look and don't take away from the tC.

Well, I think if you really wanted to get at it you would have to place the strip on the inside of the window because the way the hatch opens it would get in the way. Also, the transition between the top glass and the hatch glass wouldnt look so good because the light would stick up. So I think you could cleanly run the light up through inside the hatch and put it at the top inside. If you wanted you could probably line the whole inside of the hatch.

It would have to be on the inside. Maybe something like this: http://www.oznium.com/led-flex-strips . Attach it to the top interior piece of the hatch with the led part facing out the windows.

I think along that inner, upper hatch panel piece would work out good.

I just realized something for mounting it to the interior of the glass. It most likely won't shine through. There's that black "covering" that is a part of the defog that is built into the window.
