so the ballast brackers are just bolted onto a frame and hanging in there. If so, I bet you hear knocking noises when going at speeds of 50 and above. furthermore, the vibration of the car will split the bracket into two and damage the ballast. Also, the ignitor plugs run a risk of getting shorted out because water will get through the grille. It doesn't happen right away but it builds up over a period of time. That's why you should always avoid environment exposure.
And in my honest opinion, the way you installed your ballasts are the worst by far. Brackets can easily bend and they are exposed to water constantly.

Water won't short out the ballast since mobile HIDs kits are 100% waterproof. Well, I dont first guy who did this install double side taped the ballast to the bracket and wrenched tight en the bracket close...that what i did...

Also, if you close there isnt much of the ballast that is exposed to the environment...another going 50mph water just runs of the car...

Just Use high strength Velcro and stick them to the frame... i have one on the side of my battery and one on the frame by the light... no water to them and it just looks like a metal thing lol.. no one looks at my engine bay anyways...

The electronics may be waterproof but there's still a metal connector that hooks up to the power socket where moisture will build-up.
Guess you're still buying the advertisement where people will make their ballasts be undestructable. Gimmicks to sell a cheap knock-off for more.
Anyways, ballasts develop bad signs when in contact with water but not instantly but it's rather a process.

Again, damage is not instantly as i previously said but it builds up over a period of time.

You should watch this video too. Crappy ballast being tested and failing after a few months

It's all about gimmicks to sell a product.

My kit still works perfectly fine having it installed there, its kinda funny because it has been there for months, the same amount of time you said it would take for them to be damaged. Where they are installed only a bit of the corner is exposed, so it is practically the same as having it somewhere in the engine compartment.

I only said a few. I'm pretty sure when it rains heavily and you have cars driving in front of you, chunks of water will land on your vehicle(also known as heavy fine raindrops) rapidly that you can barely see. Well, that is what is hitting your ballasts as they are pretty much exposed.

Striker, the ballast in a bucket demo isn't a gimmick to sell product, it's a demonstration that these ballasts are solid, waterproof, and won't fail under stress.

I'm sure some other ballasts may be able to pull off the demo where the ballast is dunked for a few minutes but that's why I don't just demo the waterproof test for a few minutes. I have no problems demonstrating it for hours at a time.

At HIN in Arizona last year this MobileHID ballast was submerged for 8+ hours while being left on.

Not only that but when a ballast can take that and then the hammer test for durability http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFlZZukZx6Y

Then it's a no brainer that this product is a solid product.
