Cool, how would you rate the visibility of the 5k's over stock 08 projection bulbs

HID vs halogen. HIDs win when used properly, having projectors help even though they're not HID projectors. It's better than reflector housings.

I go with 6000k from hidextra. Their 6000k is like mobilehid 5000k. I have both of those. 5000k from hidextra is like stock 4300k hid.

HIDextra is a great place to deal with. I've got a set of their lights and the customer service is top notch. You can't beat their prices either.

Yep.

Currently I am running 4300K Phillips Osram bulbs with BMW OEM Xenon Ballasts that I paid $400 for about 3 years ago. Hasn't let me down yet.

Unfortunately I just finished my TSX retrofit and did not feel like paying $160 for 2 D2S bulbs just to keep my kit, so I paid $55 from HIDExtra for a near complete kit. I am a firm believer in a HID Relay so I don't cook my wires in the unfortunate instance of a power overload. So I paid $55 for the kit from HIDExtra and $11 for a HID Relay and I am installing them in a couple of weeks.

I will profess to HIDExtra's incredible customer service...INCREDIBLE customer service.

4300K is best, 5000k is as nearly as good...a few hundred lumens of output lost...not even noticeable to the human eye I think.

Personally I wouldn't trust a $30 kit regardless of what their warranty is. But to each his own. This is my HIDxtra 3000k in my VRD's.

Many OEM ballasts (such as denso slim ballasts) can be found on ebay or the such. OEM bulbs (phillips = 4300k-ish) can be found rebased to fit our headlights.

I know it's not quite projectors, but its a lot better than half the crap you'll see out there, and very classy.
