The_Instigator, i was just thinking about doing that to my bsp. How did you go about doing that? I have some bsp touch-up paint and thought about using that over the front and rear scion logos. is that what you did?

I like the logos where people still retain the separate color for the lettering inside... to make it stand out... otherwise, it looks a little wierd to me...

Step 1: Remove badges (search)

Step 2: Clean badges with warm soapy water

Step 3: Apply several light coats of Duplicolor Adhesion Promotor ( I got it at Kragen)

Step 3: Apply several light coats of duplicolor gloss black (or color of your choice) until desired level of color is acheived and let dry

Step 4: Apply several light coats of duplicolor clear and let dry.

Step5: Use clear silicone adhesive to reattach badges to the car.

Hope that helps. There is no need to sand the parts if you use the adhesion promotor. My badges have been painted for 6 months now and Ive had no problems with cracking or peeling paint and I was my car on average once a week.

Can't you use 3M Emblem glue for that? I saw some at walmart for only 3.50 or something than it's more than enough.

Sry to go off topic but does anyone know where to buy tint spray locally? I hate buying from online. I want to use the tint spray on my emblems to give that gun metal / black chrome look

that thread has some pics of mine. its AP with black emblems.

basically. take them off. paint entirely with color of choice. mask off the letters (if you want to do a different color) or just scratch them out like i did to make the shiney silver. and then clear coat the entire thing. it looks awesome IMO.

I suppose you could use 3m tape, but I had silcone adhesive left over form my white mirror LED mod so I used that. Dries clear and holds strong but is really east to remove later if I want to.
