Default Bottom Grill Removal

I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the 2 smaller grills (directly under the headlights). With the K&N CAI I think the air would go directly through to the filter if there wasn't anything in the way.

Or does anyone know how makes a 4 piece grill kit? I don't think it would look good empty.

just push it back towards the radiator, it will just pop out...

there's two clips.... i guess if you push hard enough it'll pop out. i popped it out after i installed my cai but it rained alot during that week and the sock that goes over the filter was just soaked. i put the plastic caps back in...just in case!!!

Check out the technical article in the "features" section about installing fog lights in the tC. It talks a little about removing the lower grill.

You will probably need to remove the 2 plastic covers under the grills to be able to push the grill out. You will need a phillips and flathead screwdriver as well as a 10mm socket for the plastic push pins. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27616

I will probably be doing this too now. I didn't realise those 2 little peices didn't have any holes in them.

I just removed one of the grills about 30 minutes ago. The intake is DIRECTLY behind it. It took about 30 seconds. All you have to do is loosen a couple screws and pins on the bottom part of the fender well (i think thats what its called) just so you can get your hand back there. Once your hand is in there you will feel two clips which you just squeeze and push out the grill. Very Easy.

if you are talkng about the fake grills that cover the air dams in the area directly below the headlights, they pop out toward the front, just pry them off w/o effin up your paint.

Um, the two grills below the headlights are a lot easier if you take a flat head screwdriver, wrap a rag around it (to keep from scratching up your bumper), and slide the screwdriver on the bottom inside corner closer to your front lisence plate and take the screwdriver towards the car, keeps the grill clips in tact along with the clips inside...very simply took me 5 seconds each...taking the very bottom center one off of my 2010 and its being a fat ho
