Brightest Replacement Headlight Bulbs
Anyone have an opinion on what is absolutely the brightest? It doesn't have to be street legal. It's for a race application. Trying to pump out the brightest, most saturating light possible through the stock lighting system. I don't care about look, bling, or anything else.
Is there anything better than the Silverstar ULTRAs? Thanks.

HID ... truthfully.
I just put Luminics into my 08 projectors ... I have had a few people ask me what HID kit I have. I have noticed a bit of light fall off compared to stock but it is a nicer light and it looks like HIDs for 30 bucks!
MobileHDs are in my future but I just wanted a temp fix.

best thing you can do with the stock lighting system on the scion tc is as follows...
buy silvania silverstar ultra 9005 bulbs, with some trimming, you can make them fit into the lowbeam harness whcih is for 9006 bulbs.
difference is that 9005 bulbs are 65 watts instead of 55 watts, and the bulbs themselves don't have caps on the end blocking some of the light.
oh, and to my knowledge, there is nothing better than silverstar ultras. they are bright, street legal, and untinted.

ultimately, the light output of a bulb comes down to the wattage.
and in the case of low and high beams, it seems that they are all 55 and 65 watts respectively, and nobody makes them in higher wattages, probably for safety sake with blinding oncoming cars, and not burning out the harness or blowing a fuse.
now fog lights on the other hand, lots of them are h3 bulbs, which are sold in street legal 55 watt bulbs, and then in off-road only 110 watts (double the wattage!!!).
but they are lower and not so blinding...usually...
