Default Bullet Hole in Front Bumper

My friend accidently shot my front bumper with his .45 handgun last night when we were drinking and I need your guys' help on a cheap and easy way to fix it. I made a vid and posted it on youtube so you guys can see the damage and let me know. The repair doesnt need to be perfect but just enough so its not obvious you know. I live in the OC if any of you got skills and wanna help.

Not to mention the discharge of a firearm report . . . you might try heating it with a heat gun really carefully, just warm up the hole and see if it reforms into the original shape.

Drinking + Handguns = ABSOLUTELY RETARDED.

Sharing it on Youtube like you're bragging about it? Wow. Is a picture of the damage not good enough?

I don't even know what to say. I realize that's not helpful... but this is just stupid.

Not bragging just asking for help. Sharring some laughs at the same time. If you want to preach or flame do it somewhere else cuz its in one ear and out the other. What did I do to you man? On the other hand if you have some advise on the topic which is fixing a hole in a bumper, post it up. If you want to talk trash about the circumstances leading up to a hole being in my bumper PM me otherwise you just look like an ___.

You guys are talkin like I did this. If you wanna talk about the stupidity of what happened or lecture about guns and all that PM me and I'll give you my friends e-mail address so you can tell him. I'm just the dude with a hole in his bumper.

Scuds, heat up the area, or hell just try and bend it back in as much as possible. Then tape something behind the hole that wont rust and can withstand water, and not just with scotch/duct tape, but with some good waterproof type adhesive. Then get some bondo, some sandpaper, and touchup paint(find the color code and go online and order the same exact color for touchup paint). Fill in the area(s), and sand it down. Then afterwards put the touchup paint on the area. It wont be a perfect fix, but from a long distance you probably wont be able to notice it, and your hole will be gone. I've fixed my mom's toyota camry's bumper before, but never dealt with bullet holes, let alone any holes in a car. Maybe my suggestion will help. good luck & be more careful with firearms. I love guns, but, well you know the spiel. Peace.

It's right on the side... It'll be hard to fix with bondo and it won't last long if you do. Your best bet is to just buy a used bumper. Removing and installing the front bumper is super easy.

I was thinking he should just buy a used bumper as well, but it seems like he wants to fix it.

I guess what I'll do is try Apathy's fix fisrt and if I mess it up I'll go with Aphex's and find another bumper and slap it on. Thanks for the help you guys. I never even touched the gun its all on him. Lets just say I wont be going shooting again with him anytime soon. Being safe with guns doesnt even need to be said, its common sense.

It amuses me that you think that I look like the ___ here... especially when you think this is actually something that's funny. You obviously have no clue how dangerous of a mixture guns and alcohol are. Like someone else said, that could have easily been a person. No, you may not have shot it... but it was YOUR friend. And YOU were with him. And you were BOTH drinking... according to your story anyway.

I doubt you'd be sharing the same laughs if it was you and not your bumper. Then again, you obviously don't seem to care anyway.

GL with the bumper.

Yet apparently not so common.

Don't worry, I'm done here.

Yea, there's not going to be any easy fix for that. Looks like the hole is warped a little bit from the pressure. Take it to a body shop and make your brilliant friend pay for it. Either way, you're lucky that bullet didn't go through a person. What the hell is he carrying a gun for anyways?
