hello im new to the CAI world... and winter is coming up fast... i have the injen 2 piece setup and im lowered on tein s-techs... is it a good idea to go short ram for winter or would i be ok to stay CAI with all the snow and such... the idea of hydro lock makes me nervous, which snow and water are much different but i think if snow got all packed up in there it could be bad? let me know what you guys think

 

if you get alot of rain and snow i would make it short ram just to be on the safe side and prevent hydro lock

 

to hydrolock you need it submerged in water slurping it up like a straw. I personally never had any issues when I had the full CAI on for a winter and as long as you have the plastic liner you should be fine. You could always just make it short ram, its not that big of a hassle to change.

I've survived three Kansas winters while running the K&N CAI.

 

yea actually I crashed my car into a snow bank (no damage) with a CAI and didnt lock up... so I think ur straight

FYI dont drive a tC in Vermont up a hill when there is 6" of snow on the ground... you won't make it...

well that would have been a good idea... cept i couldnt get out of the snow bank to test that theory... a snow plow came and plowed me out.
