Default Caliper Painted When Trading in Car?

If I paint my calipers, can I trade in my car with them painted? Or will I have to remove the paint before.

thanks for the input

Probibally. Dealerships will use anything custom youve done to lower the price to purchse the car from you. Then they will use that to raise the price when they resell it. Or they will buy parts to return the car to completly stock so they can sell it.

It just depends on the dealership. But paint on your calipers, be ready for them to doc you pretty badly for it

dont bullshiit him..they dont care if u paint ur calipers..i took my car to many dealerships for a trade in value, and the only thing they looked at bad was my HKS Exhaust and a scratch on my hood....most of them dont even notice the calipers. or dont even know what a caliper is.

Exactly! I agree 100%

The only time you will get screwed is by a dealer that is a d*ck. If thats the case, goto a different dealer.

Bull____ nothing, i sold cars for 2 years. I know the used car manager would look for ANY and all reasons to drop the price of the car. Hell i cant believe how many people they just said "we will do you a favor and just take this car off your hands for you"

Depends on the dealership and the manager on that day what price youll get offered. Also depends on the salesman and how much of the quoted price hes willing to bargain with you. After all the more money they withold on the trade in, the more money thats made.

This thread makes me laugh.

You have nothing to worry about having your calipers painted. UNLESS you have a bunch of overspray everywhere. If they try to deduct value for t....WALK away befroe the even finish the sentence. The old "we will take the car off your hands for you" line is very 1970 plaid jacket.

Most dealers these days know consumers are more educated. I sold cars for several years and I will tell you that I have never EVER heard of such a ridiculous deduction.

Anyway, you should be fine. Best of luck to you.
