Default Carbon Fiber!?

how can you make faded carbon fiber look new again? can it even be done? i was told all you have to do is get it wet sanded and have them put a new clearcoat on it.. anyone have any info on where i can get this done.. or what i have to do?

try wet sanding and buffing with wax... if that doesnt help, any paint shop will be able to just put another coat of clear on it..

wet sand it, buff it with extra cut rubbing compound, polish it with 3M swirl remover.

If that doesnt work just let the shop clear it.

thanks for the reply's do you have any idea how much it would cost to get the hood and hatch redone at a shop?

i would guess around 100? im not sure tho.. depends on where you take it i guess...

Before you try wet sanding it, just use some of Meguiar's marine wax. That stuff is great for CF. And you can even use that in the future to prevent fading.

I was quoted 100 bucks over the phone without a shop seeing it. I had bought a fairly used one that is pretty yellow.

I have heard from most people that wet sanding it and re clear coating might not restore the CF if its already been beatin down by the sun.

Thats why I am waiting to get my two-tone done and paint over it

this is what it looks like lol, its just not shinny anymore, im thinking it needs a new clear coat..so will Meguiar's marine wax do anything for it?
