Carbon Fiber and Cold Weather...
I am interested in getting a carbon fiber hood but I am unsure of how the actual matierial holds up in freezing temps. Call me a n00b, but will carbon fiber crack from the rapid changing temps due to the cold weather and a hot engine? I want a carbon fiber hood but I also gotta rememeber that this is a daily driver in the great state of MN!
As long as it's of good quality, I wouldn't see any problems due to temperatures.
Look at it this way - they're making airplanes with carbon fiber fuselages that go from 80 degrees on the ground to negative 50 degrees at cruise in a matter of minutes.

All of the carbon fiber hoods on the market for the tC are only carbon on the top and fiberglass under that. It will not crack with temperature changes but will be prone to damage driving in the winter with the stone chips from when the cinder the roads. I am originally from PA so have experience with the winter and would suggest bolting the stock hood on when the weather gets bad and put the cf hood back on in the spring. It's only 4 bolts to swap the hood.
