Default Carbon fiber hood question...

Ok My hood is really badly messed up and will cost 900 dollars for a new one and to get it painted so its cheaper to go with carbon fiber. I have an IIP and was wondering if anyone has any pics of that car with a carbon fiber hood and how they think it looks.

Also is there a website where I can purchase it? Thanks

I had the same dillema a few months back, found a company that had an O.E.M. carbon fiber hood for $479 shipping included.

Good deal right! WRONG, when it arrived at my job 3 weeks later it had chips and cracks in the coating, my biggest mistake was not first reading the FAQ from the website I purchased it from, and after the fact found out that most websites do not take responcibility for damages that can occur in transit.

I am not the only one this has happened to, several others have private messaged me with the same issue.

Be very cautious were you purchase the hood, and if possible get it locally to avoid potential problems and if not make sure that the company you purchase it from insures it.

Oh I see. That sucks. Is the CF not as strong as the regular hood then? Also how reliable is that site the person above listed because I may do that.

I haven't seen that many CF hoods with the windshield wiping fluid jets... do they exist?

Thats what the site said. Is there a picture of an IIP tC with a CF hood? It would help a lot.

In Illinois where it snows pretty bad and the salt makes it hard to see sometimes, those jets are key.

On any order you guys make for aero styling parts from any vendor make sure to inspect the package when it's delivered before you sign for it.

The freight companies often will decline the insurance if you sign for it and do not note any damages. We sugest opening all shipments prior to signing the bill of laden and if something is damaged have the driver note on the paperwork. This will cover you 100% of the time and expedite any claims.

Here is CF with IIP. I love my hood even if needs some tweaking on the alignment part. It has the washer insert holes as well. Just havent put them in yet. We also wrapped the whole hood in a one-piece clear bra for UV protection.

Rockblocker, could you post some close-up pictures of the front CF splitter? I saw your other picturs in the IIP cult thread, but the lightning wasn't too good to see all the detail.

theres a thread when you go to forums, classifieds, and sponsored sales...there a bunch of threads for carbon fiber hoods w/ pictures...check em out

I'm guessing that there are no windshield fluid dispenser jets on CF hoods because its all for looks and not practicality??
