Sorry if this has been asked before. Has anyone done a carbon fiber hatch to their TC. if so, i would like to know everything about it. What company? How is it? Does it sit flush? How much? and where you got it? any other help would be great. Pictures would be great as well. Thank You!

 

koy makes one and then so does another company... Been out for a while...

 

Coi (motor-FX) has the CF hatch w/integrated lip spoiler. also, i believe, Steve (bBist) has a CF hatch too

the installation would require a professional level as the glass would have to be removed/installed on the new hatch.

yea, well i had a bad experience with motor-fx. and in their picture of their hatch you can clearly see that it isnt fitting properly. anybody actually have one? cause id rather not be the first to try it out lol.

vis racing also has one i believe, i think abs does too..that or will be coming out with one.

^hah.............just bustin on ya man. you install the latch from the stock one on the cf trunk lid. (I imagine)

How is the fit of the CF hatch?

As I understand it, CF is pretty hard to get perfectly accurate.

For example, a CF hood for the tc tends to just not fit perfectly flush with the front end on boths sides,

Is it part of the curing process or something?

 

should fit fine its all in the prefab.. and the first one made then the mold it and thats that. If the first one is off then they will all be off. Best thing honestly... Find people on here that have em and ask em what brand they have and how it fits... Ask to see pics.

 

lol thats what ive been asking! Its either gonna be the Vis or the Bbist hatch. I'll just have to call up each company and go over prices and such. bbist also makes that carbon fiber latch also which i love. I just hope i can get that latch in a debadged way.

keep us posted on the CF lid. I need to buy one since I put a new wing on after ripping off the spoiler (wish I was a member before I installed that one) so I have holes in my trunk that r plugged up and dont look great close up. Especially intrested in the Vis cuz theres no integrated spoiler.
