Hey fellas, quick question, I got a carbon fiber rear spoiler, I heard your supposed to use som "oxidized" wax or something, I've searched and tried to get info, can't find anything, what's a specific product that you gus use and how often do ya'll wax?

 

i just use regular car wax on my hood. i prefer meguires. i usually do my hood once a week. once a month i use a light wax remover to start fresh again,.

 

depending on the oxidation, you can use a rubbing compound or a medium cut polishing compound...

I'd test on the bottom first, to see how it responds to it...

I'd start w/ something less aggressive...

 

I just use turtle wax on my CF wing. I never heard anything about needing a special wax. Even when I had my CF hood, I just used regular wax.

Regular wax is fine. Maybe you heard "use a wax to prevent oxidation"?

Many people think that you shouldn't wax carbon fiber, or that you need a special wax, but the clear coat on carbon fiber is the same clear coat used on the body of the car, so naturally, you use the same wax.

 

my bad I read that worng... Thought your wing was oxidized... But yea, kiss_kiss_kill has go it right... The clear is usually automotive clear, so wax as you would the rest of the car...

 

i use xymol wax

 

i use meguiars every time i wash the car, the hood is about 1.5 years old and still looks new!

use meguiars marine wax....cf is gell coated...works great just a little pricey though
